Elizabeth Taylor “National Velvet” Costume
Elizabeth Taylor’s dress from “National Velvet” (MGM, 1944). Red short sleeved dress with a white flower print and lace edged collar. Internal bias label on the back neck closure is handwritten “1315 Elizabeth Taylor”. The back left side of the dress is faded, and there are tears to the the left shoulder and back just beneath the button closure. Overall, in good condition considering the age and fragility of the fabric. Worn by the actress in the role of Velvet Brown, when she meets Mickey Rooney and Pie.
